PRAYAGRAJ: A sub-divisional magistrate rank official, posted at
Lalganj tehsil of
Pratapgarh district and three others have been accused of killing a tehsil employee. They were booked under sections 302, 308, 323, 452 and 504 of
IPC by the Lalganj police of Pratapgarh district late on Saturday night.

Sudhir Sharma, a resident of Vivek Nagar, Pratapgarh, lodged an FIR against SDM
Gyanendra Vikram Singh and three unidentified persons, stating that on March 30 the SDM along with his three aides forcibly entered his father
Sunil Sharma's (58) official residence and started thrashing him.
"They dragged my father out of the house and continued to thrash him there also," he added.
In his FIR, Sharma further stated that the officer and his accomplices were demanding 6,000 bricks to construct the boundary wall of the tehsil campus. He said, "When my father told them that he could not arrange 6,000 bricks for the work they started beating him up. My father turned unconscious and was rushed to a hospital. However, no family member was allowed to meet him in the hospital." Sharma said that his father, who was posted as naib nazir, died at the hospital on Saturday night. Meanwhile, reports stated that district magistrate, Pratapgarh, on the directives of the Election Commission, has removed Gyanendra Vikram Singh from the post of Lalganj SDM.
