AES: Health team visits Muzaffarpur

Patna: A team of health department officials led by additional chief secretary (health) Pratyaya Amrit on Friday inspected the areas in Muzaffarpur, which report more cases of acute encephalitis syndrome (AES). The team reviewed the preparations in a meeting with the district administration and doctors.
Amrit also held a meeting with the doctors at SKMCH and inspected the preparations at the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
Health minister Mangal Pandey stated that special focus was being given to 12 AES-prone districts. Pandey said apart from 37,871 ASHAs, 48,218 Aanganwadi workers have also been roped in to carry out necessary work like distribution of medicines and ORS in the area. TNN
