Bihar: Rs 22 lakh looted from jewellery shop in West Champaran

Six criminals barged into a jewellery shop and looted ornaments worth Rs 22 lakh in Tamkuha Bazaar locality under the Dhanaha police station area in West Champaran district around 12.30pm on Friday.

BAGAHA: Six criminals barged into a jewellery shop and looted ornaments worth Rs 22 lakh in Tamkuha Bazaar locality under the Dhanaha police station area in West Champaran district around 12.30pm on Friday.
All the criminals had covered their faces with masks and opened fire soon after entering the shop. Locals said the criminals had come on two motorcycles and fled towards the Uttar Pradesh border after committing the crime.
Bagaha SP Kiran Kumar Gorakh Jadhav, SDPO Kailash Prasad, police inspector Shekhar Chauhan and SHO Munna Kumar reached the spot after getting information. The SP said footage of CCTV camera was being scanned to identify and arrest the criminals.
Three rape accused held: The Gaya police on Friday arrested three people on charges of raping an eight-year-old girl on April 8. Gaya SSP Harpreet Kaur said an FIR was registered at Sherghati police station in connection with the case under POCSO Act.
"The three arrested accused were identified as Vinay Kumar, Deva Kumar and Akhilesh Kumar. They have confessed to their involvement in the crime," the SSP added.
₹5L looted from office of e-commerce firm: Criminals looted over Rs 5 lakh from the office of a private e-commerce company at Chintamanganj under the same police station area in Saran district on Thursday evening. In an FIR lodged with Garkha police station, Rohit Kumar, an employee of the firm, alleged that three bike-borne criminals entered the office and looted the cash at gunpoint. Garkha SHO Ram Sevak Rout said raids were on to arrest the robbers.
