BHUBANESWAR: To provide better healthcare services, the state government on Friday started a two-day health camp at the
Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital (DHH) under the Mukhyamantri Vayu Swastya Seva (MVSS) in which super-specialists are flown to remote areas.
The programme was first launched in
Malkangiri district in December 2021.
As a part of the MVSS, a team of five specialists of cardiology, urology, gastrology and laparoscopic surgery reached the district headquarters town in a chartered flight from Bhubaneswar and started treating pre-registered patients.
"During the two-day camp, free health services, including surgery, will be provided to the patients. Diagnostic facilities and operation theatres have been set up for offering specialized care to patients. Critical patients who used to face problems in going to big cities for treatment can now avail the facilities here. If required, critical patients could also be air-lifted either to Bhubaneswar or Cuttack," said Kali Prasad Behera, chief district medical and public health officer, Nabarangpur.
