Villagers attack police who went to nab illegal liquor baron in Nalanda, 10 injured, including SHO

Patna: In Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's home district Nalanda, the police who had gone to nab the liquor mafia were attacked by villagers. In this attack, 10 police personnel, including the constable, were seriously injured. The police vehicle was also damaged. According to information, the police had received information about liquor being made in Manikpur village under Parwalpur police station of Nalanda district in Bihar.

Following this information, about two dozen policemen led by the SHO rushed to the village to conduct a raid. Police recovered 10 litres of country liquor from the spot, and arrested Mantu Yadav for allegedly carrying out illegal liquor business. The police were arresting Mantu, in the meantime, hundreds of women, men and youths from the village reached there to rescue Mantu.

The villagers attacked the police with bricks, stones and sticks. In this attack, 10 policemen, including SHO Raman Prakash Vashisht, were injured. The condition of Santosh Kumar and Baijnath Ram is said to be critical, while sub-inspectors CK Singh, ASI Bijender Das, Arvind Singh, Gore Lal Yadav, Umesh Prasad, Vishal Kumar, Vijay Yadav are also injured. Who are being treated at the health centre, Parwalpur.
