Seven women have been awarded life imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs10,000 each for killing 10-year-old Rajwanti Kumari over a land dispute with her father Yogendra Yadav of the same village on September 12, 2009.

DARBHANGA: Seven women have been awarded life imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 each for killing 10-year-old Rajwanti Kumari over a land dispute with her father Yogendra Yadav of the same village on September 12, 2009.
Additional district and sessions judge (9) of Darbhanga, Sanjeev Kumar Singh, on Wednesday pronounced the judgment against the seven women of village Chhatona of the district.
Those convicted are Bucchi Devi, Munar Devi, Manyogiya Devi, Indu Devi, Bhukhni Devi, Chadhuran Devi and Sita Kumari.
According to additional public prosecutor Renu Kumari, all the accused had severely assaulted the girl, who succumbed to her injuries at a hospital. Charges were framed against all the accused on August 9, 2011.
