LUCKNOW: BJP MLA from Sarojininagar Rajeshwar Singh met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday to thank him for nod to establishing the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) regional centre in his constituency and requested for setting up a logistics park and warehousing industry on the Lucknow-Unnao road.
Singh also submitted a detailed concept note on the logistics park to the chief minister.
He said 84 villages notified by the Lucknow Industrial Development Authority (LIDA) are spread over about 299 sq km and the road network offers immense potential.

The acquisition of 351 acres of land in Kuroni village near Lucknow international airport has been completed, compensation paid, and land registered in the name of LIDA, he added.
A logistics park and housing scheme on this land would generate jobs and also contribute revenue to the state coffers, said Singh.
Quoting a World Bank report, Singh said 60% of India’s cumulative freight is ferried via roads. PM Modi had also pointed out that logistics costs in India are between 13-14% and his government aims to bring it down to 8-10% of the GDP.
Singh suggested that building multi-nodal logistics parks outside dense urban areas could be one of the ways to meet these targets and are likely to bring around a 10% reduction in transportation costs for the top 15 nodes.
Singh apprised the chief minister that such a project would be extremely beneficial for the region and could also be developed as a showcase project for other parts of the state.
