Uttar Pradesh: Celebratory firing kills 2 in Chitrakoot

At least two persons, including the groom's uncle, died while two others were injured when two members of a 'baraat' (marriage procession) opened celebratory firing in Atarsui village of Chitrakoot late on Tuesday night.

PRAYAGRAJ: At least two persons, including the groom's uncle, died while two others were injured when two members of a 'baraat' (marriage procession) opened celebratory firing in Atarsui village of Chitrakoot late on Tuesday night.
The deceased, identified as Ramkaran Yadav (28) and Ram Lakhan Yadav (50), the groom's uncle, were residents of Raipura.

The injured, Ram Milan and Munna Pal, were admitted to Raipura community health centre for treatment.
Following the incident, an FIR under section 304 of IPC and section 25 (9) and 30 of Arms Act was registered against Babuli Yadav and Mahesh Yadav at Rajapur police station.
Both the accused, who opened fire with their licensed arms, are absconding.
The firing incident had created commotion at the wedding venue and most of the 'baraatis', including the groom, had fled fearing trouble.
