BHAGALPUR: A man escaped death narrowly after his son allegedly attempted to shoot him near Ghanta
Ghar chowk under Tilka Manjhi police station area in the town on Monday.
According to police,
Amarjit opened fire on his father
Niranjan Singh when he was cleaning his chicken shop at Ghanta Ghar locality in the morning hours.
Niranjan escaped unhurt by hiding behind the counter of the shop.
Police have registered a case against the two sons of Niranjan and his wife. A countrymade pistol and two cartridges, besides a two-wheeler were recovered from the spot. In the
FIR, Niranjan alleged that Amarjit and his accomplices fired three-four rounds in an an attempt to kill him. He also accused his wife of making physical assault on him earlier.
Niranjan along with few other shopowners in the locality, managed to capture Amarjit. But he escaped taking advantage of the crowd assembled there. “Family dispute over a piece of land at Aliganj locality is stated to be the reason behind the incident. An FIR has been lodged,” Tilka Manjhi police station SHO Raj Ratan said.
