Lucknow: An 18-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi district has accused some people of rape. She says she was on her way to distributing her wedding card when she was molested and then gang-raped by three men. The girl also alleged that the accused took her to a big party leader. Later she was forced to live with someone else in a village in the Datia district.

In her complaint to the police, the girl alleged that she was married on April 21. On April 18, she was distributing wedding cards in the village. In the meantime, three youths of the village kidnapped her and gang-raped her. The victim also alleged that the boys kept her at different places for a few days and later handed her over to a leader who kept her in Jhansi. According to the girl's complaint, after Jhansi, she was forcibly sent to a village in Datia in Madhya Pradesh to live with someone else, police said.

After this, the girl somehow called her father from Datia and narrated the whole incident. With the help of the police, she was rescued from Pathri village. Taharauli Circle Officer (CO) Anuj Singh said that on the complaint of kidnapping, rape and sale by the victim, a case has been registered under relevant sections and her statement has been recorded before the magistrate. The CO said the matter is being investigated seriously and strict legal action will be taken against the culprits.
