The Regional Office of the India Meteorological
Department (IMD) here on Saturday forecasted rains and thunderstorms
for several districts in the State for next five days.
The weather office issued yellow warning of thunderstorm till May 19
morning.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places
over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Baleswar,
Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Rayagada during the next 24
hours.
On Monday, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed
reaching 30 to 40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in
Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul,
Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Baleswar. Thunderstorm with lightning
is also likely at one or two places in Sundargarh, Malkangiri, Koraput,
Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir and Kandhamal.
On the following days, similar weather conditions are going to prevail in
different districts of the State till May 19.
