Known for her TLC reality series Dr. Pimple Popper, Dr. Sandra Lee has given patients some shocking transformations over the years. At her practice in California, Dr. Lee treats all sorts of dermatological issues, from pimples to lipomas. Patients travel from far and wide to see Dr. Lee, hoping that she’ll be able to help them when others couldn’t.

Dr. Lee started gaining popularity when she started posting videos of her daily tasks as a dermatologist in 2015. Her YouTube channel was a hit, and internet “popaholics” were transfixed by her videos. TLC then offered Dr. Lee a show in 2018, using the same title as her YouTube: Dr. Pimple Popper.

Patients and viewers alike love Dr. Lee for her humor, empathy, and kindness. She genuinely wants to help everyone that enters her practice and succeeds more often than not. Here are three of the most shocking before and after transformations from Dr. Pimple Popper.

3. Dr. Pimple Popper, Season 1 Episode 1: Melissa

Melissa had a large lump on her shoulder that extended to her neck. It started as a small bump but continued to grow over the course of three years. To hide it, Melissa wore hoodies everywhere, no matter how hot or cold it was. Dr. Lee diagnosed Melissa’s growth as a lipoma, which she explained is a “benign collection of fat cells.” She was able to remove the entire lipoma that day (a procedure that some may find Dr. Pimple Popper difficult to watch), allowing Melissa to leave the office with more confidence than she’d had in years.

2. Dr. Pimple Popper, Season 4 Episode 1: Tim

Tim sought Dr. Lee’s on Dr. Pimple Popper to help with a growth on his back he’d had for ten years. The weight of the growth, which was diagnosed as a lipoma previously, caused Tim to develop a limp. He avoided dating because of the lipoma, and it also interfered with his ability to work. Dr. Lee got to work attempting to remove the lipoma and was luckily able to remove the whole thing at once. It was the size of a melon, weighing in at just over twelve pounds (Dr. Lee’s previous record for largest lipoma removed was eleven pounds). Post-surgery, Tim had a fresh outlook on life with plans to start dating again soon.

1. Dr. Pimple Popper, Season 6 Episode 1 & 2: Roger

Roger came to see Dr. Lee about some large nose growths that she diagnosed as rhinophyma. They were negatively impacting Roger’s life, partially covering his nose and mouth, which made it difficult for him to breathe. And because they were impossible to hide, Roger barely left his house. Dr. Lee was able to help Roger in Dr. Pimple Popper season 6, episode 2 when she found Dr. Osborne and Dr. Hamilton. The specialists at The Head & Nose Foundation removed the growths and reconstructed Roger’s nose. With the rhinophyma gone, Roger felt handsome for the first time in 11 years and was thankful to live a normal life again.
