Madhusha, a Srilankan national, who got married to a Kaushambi-based
Balram, two days ago is busy in learning about Indian culture and tradition.
After getting married to a Balram at Faridaganj village under the limits of Sirathu tehsil of
Kaushambi district, Madhusha says she loves Indian tradition of putting vermilion (sindoor) and wearing Indian attire. The Srilankan national says she wishes to learn the culture and different traditions of India before leaving for
South Africa.
The story of Balram and Madhusha began about 12 years back when they met in Jordan for the first time . While Madhusha was pursuing her education, Balram was working in an industrial unit. They later became good friends. After falling in love about four years back, the duo decided to marry through Indian culture and tradition and arrived Kaushambi on May 8. The marriage of Balram and Madhusha was solemnised on Saturday with full pomp and show.
Family members of Balram informed that Madhusha arrived in India on a 20-days tourist visa.
“It was our collective wish and plan to solemnise the marriage through Indian tradition and rituals at my native village. We decided to move to India to soleminzie the marriage before returning to South Africa,” said Balram who currently works in a company in South Africa. Balram, meanwhile, said,” My wife has always been drawn to our culture and she was very excited to meet and interact with the family members here.”
