JEWAR: A Kendriya Vidyalaya is being planned in the Jewar area in UP's Gautam Budh Nagar district, a first in the town, for which Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh asked for about 5 acres of land from Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) CEO Arun Vir Singh.
The work on the school is expected to begin by September this year.
“I have asked for a land parcel for a Kendriya Vidyalaya in the Jewar area from YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh during a meeting last week on Wednesday.
CEO Singh has agreed in principle. I have to complete the formalities of sending the application form to the state government as he has already sent me the relevant forms related to it. The land is expected to be around 5 acres somewhere between Dankaur and Jewar. While CPWD will build the school, the central and state governments will fund it with an expected cost of about Rs 20-22 crore,” MLA Singh said.
CEO YEIDA said that the request for the said land will be presented before the UP government and after clearance from them, it will be made available.
MLA Singh maintained that Jewar was once considered to be the most backward area of GB Nagar, but today, due to the Noida International Airport development work, the town needs to keep up with the pace of development.
“As backward villages near the airport are developing, a Kendriya Vidyalaya will in the region will not only benefit the rural children, but also those living in the city. Urban students will be able to get an education in Kendriya Vidyalaya,” he said.
