While New Hampshire is expecting temperatures in the 90s this weekend, the weather atop Mount Washington has been cold enough for snow.
A snowy view of the region’s highest peak was posted to the Mount Washington Observatory’s Facebook page on Thursday.
Big, heavy flakes fell as a band of heavy precipitation passed overhead.
Mount Washington typically averages a couple of inches of snow each May. The peak has seen about 3 inches of snow so far this month.
One of Mount Washington's calling cards is that historically, observers have seen measurable snow at the summit each month of a calendar year, including the summer months.
