Bihar: Man booked for rape bid in Nalanda district

BIHARSHARIF: A man has been booked for trying to rape a minor girl and breaking the arm of her grandfather for complaining to the parents of the accused on Thursday. The incident took place in a village under Tharthari police station area in Nalanda district on Thursday.
According to police, the accused barged into the victim’s house and tried to rape her. When she screamed, her aunt rushed to the room of the under construction house and found the accused tightly holding her.
When she tried to free her from his clutches, he pushed her and fled.
Later, the accused, along with his brother, thrashed the victim’s grandfather with bamboo sticks and broke his arm when he went to complain to his parents. The FIR was lodged on Friday only when the local mukhiya intervened.
