You don’t have to go to Harvard to develop your Digital Mindset – try StartUp Ballymun instead by Billy Linehan

StartUp Ballymun is back for its ninth edition, the premier StartUp event north of Dublin’s O’Connell Street. And with a focus on sharing the benefits of adapting digital technologies across your business, improving your Digital Mindset.

“We are delighted to be back”, says Dublin City Council’s Liam Barry. “It’s great to host an in-person event promoting enterprise in Ballymun and north Dublin. Thanks to all the entrepreneurs, local businesses and partners for making it happen. A special shout out to students from local school, Trinity Comprehensive.”

Not just another startup event, but a Digital Mindset

Never aimed at the traditional StartUp market, it follows another seam. Central to our proposition is for business owners to describe their journeys, allied to a theme for the event. The topic for this event is Go Digital, asking the question how small businesses can access a range of digital technologies that are now available.

Which technology?

Which technology to harness, and how can the technology investment be funded, are relevant questions for business support agencies and digitalisation experts. Choosing the optimum technology depends on what competitors are using, the influence of vendors and what makes sense to the business.

LEO funding

A new initiative ‘Digital Start’ is launched by Ireland’s network of local enterprise offices shortly. It is unclear what level of funding is available for financing business automation, UX design, or utilising business analytics. Sectoral support appears limited?
