  • The forward will hope to be called up by England for the Nations League games
  • He is on the radar of Gareth Southgate, who is set to name an extended party

West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen is hoping to earn his first England call-up on Tuesday, but Gareth Southgate faces defensive headaches as he finalises his latest squad.

Southgate will name an extended party this afternoon for next month's Nations League matches against Hungary, Germany and Italy.

And Bowen is on the England head coach's radar after an outstanding season for David Moyes's side, in which he scored 18 goals and provided 11 assists.

The 25-year-old was on course to be named in Southgate's squad for March's friendlies against Switzerland and Ivory Coast but injury ruled him out.

Elsewhere, there are selection dilemmas for Southgate at centre back with Marc Guehi (ankle) and Ben White (hamstring) carrying injuries.

Arsenal defender White is believed to be the bigger doubt of the two, with Crystal Palace still open to Guehi being called up. AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, who has just won the Serie A title, could replace White or Guehi in the squad.

Southgate will select his strongest possible squad for the June matches despite concerns from various clubs about player burnout.
