A 45-year-old man was killed and two others sustained injuries when a consignment of firecrackers went off while it was unloaded from a van in Dariyabad area of Barabanki district late on Sunday night.

LUCKNOW: A 45-year-old man was killed and two others sustained injuries when a consignment of firecrackers went off while it was unloaded from a van in Dariyabad area of Barabanki district late on Sunday night.
Barabanki police said that the firecrackers’ consignment was brought for a wedding function.
On Monday an FIR was lodged against one Shambhu who is on the run.

A forensic team from Lucknow reached the blast site to examine the explosive used in firecrackers.
SHO, Dariyabad, Durga Shukla said that a function was organized at Saraishah village on Sunday night to celebrate the marriage of one Sultan Khan.
A band party, comprising Shambhu and his three workers, had reached the village from Ayodhya on Sunday along with musical instruments.
They were also carrying firecrackers with them for the celebration purpose. “Around 9.30 pm, the firecrackers suddenly went off, killing a person identified as
Raju.
The other two persons Banwarilal and Dhannu, who were engaged in unloading the firecrackers from a van along with Raju, sustained serious burns and were rushed to a hospital.
Such was the intensity of the blast that window panes of two adjoining houses shattered.
“We have launched a hunt for the accused,” said Anurag Vats, SP, Barabanki.
