Times Sport Unseen: Everton survive, Manchester City win the Premier League and Mark Noble says goodbye

Bradley writes: The Premier League season ended with two amazing 3-2 scorelines for the blue halves of Liverpool and Manchester. It started for me with Everton fans welcoming the team bus to the stadium for the game at home to Crystal Palace (above). I have to admit to giggling as I walked back to the media entrance on Goodison Road, everyone looked like a Smurf with blue faces from the flares. Then I looked at my hands, realised they were blue, so I concluded that my head would be too. It took a couple of showers to regain my natural skin colour.

Bradley writes: Euphoria as fans invade the pitch after Everton secured their Premier League survival by beating Crystal Palace 3-2. There have been a couple of unsavoury incidents during recent pitch invasions, including this one. No one wants to see fences come back but I can’t see another solution that guarantees players’ and officials’ safety. There are horizontal fences like Wembley have, which seem to work. What we need to avoid is another Billy Sharp incident at Nottingham Forest which was horrific. I know it shouldn’t make a difference but imagine the fallout if Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah or Kevin De Bruyne had been the victim.

Bradley writes: The Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford leaves the pitch after Everton’s comeback against Crystal Palace. Love the pitch-invader carrying a young girl in his arms.

Bradley writes: The sheer joy on the face of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola as he emerges from the tunnel before the presentation of the Premier League trophy. City came back from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 to become champions for the fourth time in five seasons.

Bradley writes: A wide view of the trophy presentation at the Etihad. What you normally don’t get to see on TV are the cannons firing and the group in front of the presentation, who are from Sky, the club and Premier League photographers.

Bradley writes: Kevin De Bruyne shows the trophy to the fans at the Etihad. This was long after the presentation. I had gone back to the photographers’ pit to send some pictures and this was at the back end of the lap of honour. It looks like he has the ground to himself.

Bradley writes: This was even much later than the De Bruyne picture. In a virtually empty ground, players’ families came on the pitch and lots of children were playing football. Here João Cancelo is with his partner Daniela and daughter Alicia.

Bradley writes: Great to see the European Taekwondo Championships in Manchester. It is always well organised and supported. I was experimenting with slow shutter speeds during the semi-final between Jack Woolley, in red, from Ireland, against Spain’s Adrián Vicente Yunta (blue).

Marc writes: I grew up watching the Coventry Bees at Brandon Speedway Stadium and became both transfixed and fascinated by speedway. When I discovered the Peterborough Panthers were racing against Belle Vue Aces at the East of England Arena, a trip up the A1 rekindled my love of the sport. The racing was fast and furious and the visitors were comfortable winners by 54-37.

Marc writes: Mark Noble bid an incredibly emotional farewell to West Ham United as he played his final home game for the club against Manchester City. Growing up in Canning Town and walking home after his debut against Southend United aged 17, Noble made 549 appearances for his boyhood team and Mr West Ham was given the send-off he so richly deserved in front of a packed London Stadium.

Marc writes: What can be said about this West Ham United fan? His ingenious way of wearing his shirt back-to-front, then with each arm bearing the claret and blue colours obviously showing Noble 16, simply stopped me in my tracks. Sometimes certain pictures are made for the Unseen gallery.

Marc writes: Driving home last Tuesday night along the St Albans Road I did a sharp U-turn as I noticed the coaching sessions had started at Harpenden Cricket Club. Open to Year 3 and Year 6, the boys were expertly coached by the superb young coaching staff. This view was exactly what I saw as I drove past — mum sitting on a picnic blanket with daughters as the youngster smashed the ball for a six in beautiful early evening light. Another perfect Unseen picture.

Marc writes: A portrait using available light of Chelsea centre back Toni Rüdiger. Using the new Canon R5 mirrorless camera with the RF85mm f1.2 lens the sharpness and definition is incredible. Not only are the veins in the whites of his eyes pin-sharp but I can be seen reflected standing in front of the window.

Marc writes: It was a beautiful Parisian afternoon on Saturday when I arrived to cover The French Open, known as the Roland Garros tennis tournament. I decided to take a walk around the Porte de Saint-Cloud area near my hotel and found the Paris Saint-Germain fans walking to the Parc des Princes. This was taken on my iPhone as I followed a family on the Pl. du Dr Paul Michaux which runs alongside the Boulevardphérique.

Marc writes: I could hear the cheering from my hotel in Boulogne as PSG played Metz in Ligue 1 and once it became dark I walked back to the Parc des Princes. My GCSE French managed somehow to persuade a group of gendarmerie officers to allow me to use a footbridge specifically for this image. Balancing my Canon R3 camera on a railing and using a long exposure of 16 seconds, this rather colourful and effective picture was captured during the match.

Marc writes: Emma Raducanu is captured on the clay of Court 6 at Roland Garros during a practice session. The French Open is a delight for a photographer as the clay courts offer brilliant pictures. Captured at 1/3200th sec the clay falls from Emma’s trainers.

Marc writes: Coco Gauff had ten double-faults, 12 break points and even a warning from the umpire about receiving coaching from her dad during her first-round 7-5, 6-0 victory over the Canadian qualifier Rebecca Marino on Court Simonne-Mathieu, but I was only interested in the light and shade and her amazing chiffon tennis skirt.
