Havana, May 25 (Prensa Latina) The keynote speech on women's intervention in times of crisis in Haiti, given by scholar Sabine Lamour, is one of the proposals of the meeting organized by Casa de las Americas in Cuba.

The 8th International Colloquium “Cultural Diversity in the Caribbean,” focused on the resilience and creation in scenarios of the Covid-19 pandemic, also proposes on Wednesday the panel “Social movements and artistic groups,” an alliance for participation through solidarity and support groups.

This space brings together, particularly, the community articulation facing Covid-19 and the presentation of artistic projects, and precedes the talk on tourism and culture in the subregion, which covers a study from the so-called special period or economic crisis in Cuba from the 1990s to now.

The event also promotes the launching of the book “Afrontamiento positivo a la Covid-19 y sus implicaciones psicologicas. Percepcion de riesgo, cuidado, autocuidado y responsabilidad social,” published by the University of Havana publishing house and presented by psychologist Manuel Calviño.

For the last day, Casa de las Americas organized the panel “Ecological alternatives, sustainability and food security,” associated with permaculture as a theoretical and practical tool for the creation of sustainable human settlements and the experience from the Caribbean nation.
