Following on from the success of the 195,000 sq ft fulfilment and distribution warehouse secured in February last year, Woodland Group is delighted to confirm the opening of its second location at iPort in Doncaster. The new 130,458 sq ft distribution facility was secured on a 10-year lease and is now fully operational with 6 clients under contract already.

iPort has provided Woodland Group the space to successfully deliver on its significant growth promise and develop sustainable, forward thinking supply chain solutions, and the ability for its clients to scale their businesses successfully.

iPort’s on-site multimodal freight terminal, iPort Rail, has been instrumental in allowing Woodland Group’s growing carbon-conscious solutions to cut carbon across its own and its clients’ supply chains, with the Group even having launched a dedicated new rail service through iPort Rail for its onsite clients.

This latest addition to the Woodland Group facility portfolio was designed with e-commerce in mind, resulting in the layout, design and material handling in the building all having been carefully thought out to allow Woodland to offer clients a solution which is fit for purpose, not just today but for many years to come.

Having secured several high-profile brands that have requirements from full pallet picking to single order or subscription picking, the Group has already recruited 40 new team members with a second round of employment planned later in the year.

Woodland is proud of its innovative, easy to do business approach which sees the Group help brands scale their businesses, not only in the UK but across the globe with the same integrations and core values across all warehouses and distribution centres.

Luke Fermor, Global Head of Fulfilment, Woodland Group, commented: “The Woodland fulfilment business is seeing large growth with strategic clients who trust us with their complete end to end supply chain solutions. It has been a pleasure working with Verdion to deliver a second facility on the iPort estate which allows us to continue to expand our services out of Doncaster. This new dedicated e-commerce facility gives us the ability to store over 15,000 pallets and 12,000 pick locations all being managed by our state-of-the-art, in-house built WMS. This facility will further drive our aim to deliver sustainable supply chains, and we have extensive plans in place to make it our flagship for sustainable development. The investment we are seeing in the South Yorkshire and Doncaster area is very exciting and we are pleased to be a major provider and employer in the area.”
Paul Boughtwood, Chief Operating Officer, Winning Moves (UK) Limited, added: "We are excited to be partnering with Woodland group for our UK warehousing and distribution needs. UK retail is a hugely important part of our business, and we are confident that the new, carbon-conscious, facilities in Doncaster along with the expertise of Woodland group, will facilitate a first-class service for all our clients. We're looking forward to Doncaster enabling the continued availability of everyone's favourite games and puzzles for many years to come."
