'He knows where the net is' - Ex-Leeds United star urges West Ham to sign Super Eagles striker
Published: May 25, 2022Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny has described Nigeria striker Emmanuel Dennis as the perfect player to boost West Ham's attacking department for next season.
The Super Eagle was a revelation for the Hornets after his permanent transfer from Club Brugge last summer.
Dennis, who was involved in sixteen goals (10 goals, 6 assists) from 33 appearances in his maiden season in England, was relegated with Watford from the Premier League despite having such impressive numbers.
It has been reported that West Ham have held talks with Dennis's representatives over a summer move.
"To get double figures in the Premier League is impressive," Kenny said to Football Insider.
"To get double figures in a pretty bad Premier League team that got relegated is even more impressive.
"He knows where the net is and I think he could be the perfect player to fill out the squad.
"That’s what they need because I think it cost them this season, they had a very thin squad for a team competing in Europe.
"Obviously they are in Europe again next season so they need a squad. A young lad with goals in him will be very useful."
Watford are open to selling Dennis as relegation from the Premier League means less revenue and the club's hierarchy may need to cut some costs.
