RAJKOT: The Asiatic lions in its last abode of Gir remain in search of some place at a height to get relief from the scorching temperature.
A lioness had climbed clay roof tiles of a Kaccha house in a village of Gir Somnath district on Friday night that had created panic among the villagers.
According to the forest department a passerby in Fatsar village of Gir Gadhada taluka saw a lioness resting on the clay roof tiles of Lalbhai Mesia’s house at around 10.30pm.

The roof of the house was 15 foot high, and the lioness climbed over. He informed other villagers and the owner of the house and village people gathered. They were also surprised and panicked seeing a full grown lioness resting there. However it did not make any difference to the lioness that people gathered as she was enjoying the cold wind.
The people there informed the forest department and a team from Jasadhar range reached the spot within an hour but till that time the lioness remained seated on the roof. The forest officials dispersed the villages and thereafter led the lioness towards the forest area. The people of the village captured the lioness in mobile cameras and videos and pictures of a lioness sitting on the roof went viral on social media.
