Bus rams car in Kanpur Dehat, child among 5 killed in mishap

At least five people, including a child, were killed after their car was rammed by a bus and fell into a ditch in Musanagar area of Kanpur Dehat district on Sunday evening. Four passengers of the bus also sustained injuries.

Kanpur: At least five people, including a child, were killed after their car was rammed by a bus and fell into a ditch in Musanagar area of Kanpur Dehat district on Sunday evening. Four passengers of the bus also sustained injuries. The incident took place near Jasaura village on the Mughal road.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief over the death of five people in the road accident and instructed officers of the district administration and police to ensure the best possible relief operations.

The deceased included five occupants of the car, while four passengers on the bus suffered injuries.
The passersby and villagers rushed to the spot on hearing a loud thud and launched rescue operation after alerting the police control room.
Senior police and administrative officers also reached the spot and supervised the rescue operations.
The bus driver however managed to flee from the accident site.
Police sent the five injured passengers in the car to the hospital but the doctors declared them brought dead. The injured passengers trapped in the bus were also taken out and sent to hospital.
According to reports, the car was on its way to Chitrakoot. The accident led to a masive traffic jam on the Mughal road for hours.
Superintendent of police, Kanpur Dehat, Swapnil Mamgai said as per preliminary findings, all the car occupants were heading to Chitrakoot.
“When their car reached near Jasaura village on Mughal road, it was hit by a speeding bus. We have launched a search operation to trace the bus driver, who escaped after the accident,” he added.
