2 drown while swimming at Bhagalpur ghat

Prayagraj: In a tragic incident, two minor brothers drowned, while another was saved when they had gone for swimming into river Ganga at Bhagalpur ghat under the limits of Dhoomanganj police station here on Monday. The deceased, identified as Ayush (14) and Nirmal (11), were residents of Ganga Vihar colony.
Station House Officer (Dhoomanganj) Rajesh Maurya told TOI that a group of three minors, including Ayush, Nirmal (both brothers) and one another, along with their mother had gone to swim at river Ganga at Bhagalpur ghat.SHO added that while swimming, all the three minors went into deep water and began drowning.
Seeing trouble, the mother of two cried for help. Locals along with swimmers jumped into the river and managed to take one of the minor out from the river in an unconscious condition. However, locals couldn’t save Ayush and Nirmal. Upon being alerted, a team of Dhoomanganj police along with swimmer arrived at the spot. It took then more than two hours to fish out bodies of both brothers. tnn
