Narmada Through Eyes of Parikrama Residents
Originating from Maikal Hills of Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh, Narmada is the fifth largest river flowing from the east to the west of central India and meets the Arabian Sea after travelling 1,312 km. Narmada is a major centre of faith besides being the lifeblood for the people of Madhya Pradesh. Every year, more than one lakh people do parikrama of the Narmada on foot and about three to four lakh people do it with various vehicles. NewsClick spoke to the residents on the parikrama route and experts to know what changes have happened in Narmada.
