Bihar: Boy injured in celebratory firing in Bhojpur

A 15-year-old boy was injured in a celebratory firing during a marriage procession at Shahpur Baazar ward no 5 under the same police station in Bhojpur district on Tuesday night.

ARA: A 15-year-old boy was injured in a celebratory firing during a marriage procession at Shahpur Baazar ward no 5 under the same police station in Bhojpur district on Tuesday night. The victim was identified as Ranveer Kumar Singh, son of Dr Vinay Kumar Singh, a dental surgeon, who runs his clinic at Dumraon police station road in Buxar district.
According to the police, a marriage procession of his maternal uncle’s relative had reached near their house on Tuesday night and he was leaning over a railing of the rooftop with other boys to watch the ‘baraat’.
A youth fired a gunshot that hit the boy in his chest. He was rushed to a surgeon at Ara.
Dr Vikash Kumar Singh, who operated upon the injured boy, said: “He had a bullet injury on the right side of his chest. He will be kept under observation for a couple of days.”
“The injured boy is out of danger. When he will be in a position to talk, his statement will be recorded," said Shahpur police station SHO Nitya Nand Sharma.
The boy with his parents had come to attend the birthday celebration of his younger maternal uncle's son, Chiranjeevi, on Monday.
