Seven members of an extended family, including two children, were charred to death and 27 others injured when their bus overturned and caught fire after colliding with a goods van at Kamalapur, 35 km from here, on Friday morning.

Kalaburagi: Seven members of an extended family, including two children, were charred to death and 27 others injured when their bus overturned and caught fire after colliding with a goods van at Kamalapur, 35 km from here, on Friday morning. The deceased are from Hyderabad and were returning after a holiday in Goa.
The deceased are Saraladevi Arjun Gudur, 37, Arjun M Gudur, 37, Vivan Arjun Gudur, 2, Shivakumar K, 35, Ravali Shivakumar, 35, Dixita Shivakumar, 9, and Anita Raju, 40.
The bus was carrying 32 passengers, including 30 from the same extended family.
The private bus which was heading to Hyderabad from Goa via Humanabad collided with a goods van, which was heading to Bidar, around 6. 30 am. After hitting the goods van, the bus driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed into a culvert. The bus then overturned and within minutes went up in flames.
