Abha Pande finds ICC absent in 100 govt offices in Gadchiroli
Nagpur: The state women’s commission member Abha Pande, who was in Gadchiroli on Friday, took serious note of the absence of internal complaints committee (ICC) at around 100 government and another 79 private offices. Pande has urged district woman and child welfare officer to intervene and write to these offices at the earliest.
Extolling the efforts of the district administration for assisting widows and orphans during the Covid pandemic, Pande suggested replacing agencies managing government-aided shelter homes in case their performance is not satisfactory.

Pande told TOI that she was pained to see the “pathetic condition” of the government shelter home at Ghot “lacking several facilities and required manpower”. “Senior officials were not aware about the state women commission helpline (155209) which needs to be publicized to benefit the masses,” said Pande who had earlier visited Chandrapur district as part of her tour of eastern Vidarbha and interacted with women in shelter homes there.
The NCP neta, who reviewed an one-stop grievance redressal centre at Gadchoroli, also urged the district administration, police and other agencies to take grievances of women seriously and make concerted efforts to resolve them. She also visited various departments at the collectorate to review women related schemes. She appealed to the administration to increase the number of centres having adequate manpower.
