Bihar: Mahadalit killed for opposing liquor trade in Rohtas

A 60-year-old Mahadalit man succumbed to the injuries after allegedly beaten black and blue by liquor mafia for opposing illicit liquor business in his village at Barahari Kala under Dinara police station area in Rohtas district. Though he was assaulted on June 1, he died in his house on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Bala Musahar.

SASARAM: A 60-year-old Mahadalit man succumbed to the injuries after allegedly beaten black and blue by liquor mafia for opposing illicit liquor business in his village at Barahari Kala under Dinara police station area in Rohtas district. Though he was assaulted on June 1, he died in his house on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Bala Musahar.
Dinara police station SHO Roshan Kumar said seven persons were named as accused in this connection.
Bala's body was handed over to his family members on Monday morning after postmortem.
According to police sources, Bala and his son Ashok Kumar were assaulted by liquor mafia in a meeting at Barahari Kala village, when the duo dared protest the manufacturing and selling of liquor in the village.
