Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double engine government of the Centre and Uttar Pradesh every section of society was getting the benefit of public welfare schemes of the government without any discrimination.

The chief minister was addressing a gathering at the Garib Kalyan Mela organised at Ranidiha in Gorakhpur. He said in 2014, people had handed over the reins to Modi to change the fate of the country and after his becoming the prime minister there had been a massive and positive change in every field. He said public welfare schemes had been implemented at every level by creating a wide group of beneficiaries who were being provided the benefits of the schemes without discrimination.

The chief minister said that the earlier state government used to become a hindrance to the implementation of the schemes of the Modi government in Uttar Pradesh. “Breaking these barriers, in 2017, the people of Uttar Pradesh formed the Bharatiya Janata Party government with a huge majority under the leadership of PM Modi. Its effect is that today crores of beneficiaries are getting the benefits of government schemes in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

He said the government had connected farmers, youth, women, and the poor with its schemes.

The chief minister said that 95 per cent control over encephalitis deaths had been achieved due to the works taken under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and the eradication of this disease was now in the final stage. “In the coming time, no innocent will die of encephalitis,” he added.

Yogi Adityanath said that now Uttar Pradesh was moving towards the target of One District One Medical College. “Medical colleges are being built in all the districts of the state. Medical colleges have been started in Basti, Deoria and Siddharthnagar. “A medical college is being built in Kushinagar and construction of one is in progress in Maharajganj,” he added.

“With the record goods and services tax (GST) collection, new confidence has been awakened in the public towards the welfare schemes for the poor. Two lakh girls benefited from Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana and 12 lakh were benefited by Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana. To keep the youth digitally fit and for their skill development, 16 lakh tablets and smartphones have been distributed so far. In the next five years, 20 million youth will get smartphones and tablets,” he said.
