SURAT: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a free-wheeling interaction with beneficiaries of multiple government schemes in Navsari on Friday.
As he sought a first-hand feedback of schemes schemes, people shared their individual stories of how they have been able to derive benefits from including Stand up India, Van Bandhu Yojana, PM Awas Yojana and others.
One of the beneficiaries spoke about her daughter’s hearing disability and said she was able to get treatment and hearing implant through a government scheme free of cost, which would otherwise have cost around Rs 6 lakh-7 lakh.

Some youngsters narrated about availing loans under various initiatives of and how they have now become job creators. A woman entrepreneur described how their self-help group is able to reach out to a bigger market for their produce and were earning about Rs 15 lakh -Rs 16 lakh per year.
Farmers of the region detailed the benefits of organic and natural farming and how this switch has boosted their income.
Later addressing people in Khudvel, Modi said he doesn’t want the coming generations to undergo the sufferings that the elders have gone through due to lack of development then.
