Lucknow: To promote the ‘itr’ (perfume) of UP’s
Kannauj in
Egypt, a virtual session was organised to facilitate interaction between the officials of MSME and export promotion department and the Indian embassy of Egypt.
The idea was to bring importers from Egypt and sellers from Kannauj across the table for business.

Navneet Sehgal informed Ajit Gupte, Indian ambassador to Arab Republic of Egypt, about the ODOP ecosystem in the state and the key ODOP products, including the ‘itr’ of Kannauj.
Thanking the embassy officials for participating in the meet, Sehgal asked them to showcase ODOP products in the embassy to further promote Indian artisan’s work.
He also requested that the Indian embassy should share a list of key promotional and business events in Egypt wherein UP-based businesses can participate to expand their prospects.
He assured buyers and sellers of all possible support from the government.
CEO, Invest UP, Abhishek Prakash invited Egypt-based companies to invest in UP.
Indian ambassador to Arab Republic of Egypt, Ajit Gupte provided a brief overview of bilateral trade between India and Egypt and offered all possible support to the UP government in promoting trade and investment between Egypt and
Uttar Pradesh. Representatives from ‘itr’ and related industries in India and Egypt discussed the Egyptian fragrance market.
The attendees agreed that the list of participants and product catalogues would be shared to pave the way for collaboration. The ODOP cell and the Indian embassy in Egypt agreed to help buyers and sellers take bilateral trade to the next level.
