UP cabinet approves extending Kisan Samridhi Yojana by five years

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday approved extending by five years a scheme for the improvement and treatment of barren and waterlogged lands in the state. In a meeting of the Cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it has been decided to implement Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Kisan Samridhi Yojana till 2026-27 with an estimated expenditure of Rs 602.68 crore -- Rs 501.59 crore from the state, Rs 51.25 crore from MNREGA and Rs 49.84 crore farmers' share -- a government spokesman said. Father-son duo killed in UP's Deoria

A man and his elder son were killed and his younger son was critically injured after they were attacked while sleeping by an unidentified miscreant in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Shahid Ali (50) and Nazeer (22), they said. (PTI)

Police put up posters of suspects in Friday violence case

Continuing with its crackdown against the accused of stone-pelting and violence after Friday prayers last week, police in Firozabad and Ambedkarnagar have put up posters of the suspects on Monday to get them identified. Besides, separate teams have been formed in Prayagraj, Saharanpur and Hathras to trace CCTV cameras to identify those who were involved in the violence on June 10. Meanwhile, the total number of arrests across the state in this connection climbed to 345.
