On cam: Temple chariot crashes on devotees in Tamil Nadu’s Dharmapuri, 2 killed

Two killed, several injured as temple chariot topples in Tamil Nadu. This is during the annual festival in Papparapatti in Dharmapuri. Thousands from villages in the vicinity of the temple took part in the event. The festival was being held after a gap of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Villagers were enthusiastically pulling the chariot through its usual route. One of the axle of the chariot broke and the chariot collapsed on the crowd. Around 10 persons got caught under the chariot. They were pulled out by other villagers. The injured were rushed to hospitals nearby. Two people died on the way to the hospital. Chief Minister Stalin condoled the death.
