PM to launch projects worth Rs21,000 cr in Gujarat on Friday

NEW DELHI: During his two-day visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 21,000 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit and open the renovated Shree Kalika Mata temple at Pavagadh Hill on June 18, followed by a visit to Virasat Van. He will then attend the Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan in Vadodara in the afternoon, where he will launch and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 21,000 crore.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement that beneficiaries of various government initiatives will attend the Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan in Vadodara. The Prime Minister will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for nearly Rs 16,000 crore in railway projects. These projects will help in lowering logistical costs and boosting the region's industry and agriculture sectors. They will also boost regional connectivity and increase passenger comfort.

The Prime Minister will dedicate a total of 1.38 lakh residences under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, including houses worth over Rs 1,800 crore in urban regions and around Rs 1,530 crore in rural areas. In addition, Khat Muhurat would be performed on around 3,000 houses worth over Rs 310 crore.

During the event, the PM will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for several development projects worth over Rs 680 crore in Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, and Panchmahal, all of which are targeted at improving the region's quality of life.
