Odisha: 11 districts get new collectors; new commissioners in three municipal corporations

As many as 11 districts got new collectors while the municipal corporations of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur also got new commissioners as the state government on Thursday effected a major reshuffle among the IAS officers’ level.

BHUBANESWAR: As many as 11 districts got new collectors while the municipal corporations of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur also got new commissioners as the state government on Thursday effected a major reshuffle among the IAS officers’ level.
According to an official notification issued by the state general administration department, Vijay Amruta Kulange appointed new commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) while Dibya Jyoti Parida replaced him as new collector of Ganjam, the largest-populous district, which is also the home district of chief minister Naveen Patnaik.

Nikhil Pavan Kalyan appointed new commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation as the incumbent Ananya Das has been transferred as new collector, Sambalpur.
J Sonal is new commissioner of Berhampur Municipal Corporation. Gavali Parag Harshad replaced Kalyan as new collector of Sundargarh.
Among others, Swadha Dev Singh appointed new collector of Rayagada, Siddeshwar Baliram Bondar to head the administration in Bhadrak while Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde will be new collector of Balasore. The state government has appointed K Sudarshan Ghakravarthy as new collector of Khurda.
The new collectors of other districts include Somesh Kumar Upadhyay (Deogarh), P Anvesha Reddy (Kalahandi), Patil Ashish lshwar (Kandhamal) and Hema Kanta Say (Nuapada).

Some of the senior IAS officers, who were serving as district collectors for the last a few years have been transferred to Bhubaneswar ss part of the reshuffle.
Sudhansu Mohan Samal, who was serving as Deogarh collector, has been shifted to state water resources department as joint secretary while Brundha D, who was posted as Kandhamal collector, will now serve as managing director of state-owned Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited.
Khurda collector Sangram Keshari Mohapatra will now serve as project director of Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya. Rayagada collector Saroj Kumar Mishra has been transferred to home department while Bhadrak collector Trilochan Majhi has been posted in revenue department.
Among others, Prem Chandra Ghaudhary has been appointed as new director of agriculture and food production, Odisha.
Among the junior IAS officers, Keerthi Vasan V has been posted as new project director of district rural development agency, Ganjam while Suryawanshi Mayur Vikas has been transferred as additional commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation. Agrawal Akshay Sunil has been posted in general administration department.
According to official sources, the new collectors are likely to continue in their respective-assigned districts to oversee the ongoing development process till the simultaneous general and assembly polls due in 2024.
