Mandsaur: (Report of Sandeep Gupta)- Anurag Sujania on behalf of administration and Mandsaur police, an appeal was made to the general public by the Superintendent of Police of Mandsaur district to save the survivors of misuse of social media and also to save their loved ones from misuse of social media in view of the upcoming body elections and religious disturbances at many places in the state.
Section 144 has been imposed by the District Magistrate in the entire district till further orders to prevent and control the spread of messages causing religious frenzy on social media, misleading publicity, indecent remarks against a particular community, obscene and inflammatory messages on social media. Do not spread the facts of any message from the point of view of mere oppressive or entertainment without knowing the facts and veracity.
Strict action is being taken under the direction of Mandsaur Superintendent of Police for effective control over misuse of social media. In the past few days, strict legal action has been taken against such persons at various thanas in the district and under ipc and it act. The Indian Information Technology Act, 2006 provides for punishment ranging from 3 years to 10 years under various sections.
