Ban on 35 WhatsApp groups spreading fake news on 'Agneepath', contact this number for fact check

New Delhi: The Modi government at the Center on Sunday (19 June 2022) has banned 35 WhatsApp groups spreading fake information about the 'Agneepath' scheme. At the same time, a total of 10 people have been arrested so far for spreading false information on the new scheme of the government and misleading the youth. In media reports, the Telecom Ministry has been quoted as saying that the Central Government has warned the people that strict action will be taken against those who spread such misconceptions. At present, around 50 WhatsApp groups are also being searched. The Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that the Center has issued the number 8799711259 for WhatsApp fact-checking.

 

At the same time, a strict warning has been given by Gautam Budh Nagar Commissionerate to anti-social elements trying to disturb peace under the guise of demonstration. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Law and Order Ashutosh Dwivedi has told that he is getting to know from social media that on June 20, some anti-social elements may try to disturb the law and order in the name of Bharat Bandh and traveling to Delhi. Section 144 is applicable in Gautam Budh Nagar. If still anyone tries to play with law and order, then action will be taken against him. It is noteworthy that the police had arrested 5 people from Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. These people were working to instigate the youth against the Agneepath scheme. However, when the police arrested them and did their investigation, it was found that these people were associated with some political party.

Let us inform that the most opposition to the Agneepath scheme was seen in Bihar. In such a situation, on June 17, the Bihar government had stopped internet services in 12 districts for security reasons and to prevent the spread of false information. Along with this, it was found in the checking of mobile phones of the arrested protesters that coaching institutes also have a role in these demonstrations.
