Andhra Pradesh: Over 20 injured in bus accident in Srikakulam
Over 20 people suffered injuries when a private bus in which they were travelling hit a culvert and plunged into a roadside canal near Peddatamarapalle in Srikakulam district in the wee hours of Monday.

SRIKAKULAM: Over 20 people suffered injuries when a private bus in which they were travelling hit a culvert and plunged into a roadside canal near Peddatamarapalle in Srikakulam district in the wee hours of Monday.
The police said that the incident took place when a private bus with over 40 passengers (daily wage workers and their family members) was heading towards Kerala from West Bengal.
The preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that over-speeding and drowsiness of the driver were the reasons for the accident.
The driver of the vehicle lost control over the steering due to over-speeding and hit the culvert, resulting in the bus plunged into the road-side canal.
The injured people were shifted to a government hospital at Tekkali.
The condition of four injured persons is said to be dangerous.
A case has been registered and investigation is on.
