Rajkot: Follow Covid norms, DEO tells schools

RAJKOT: The district education officer (DEO) of Rajkot has asked the schools to comply with the Covid guidelines which are in force. The DEO has asked the schools to see that students wear proper masks on school premises.
This instruction was posted on a WhatsApp group of schools and this came in the wake of rising Covid cases in the state in last one week. B S Kaila, DEO Rajkot, told TOI: “Looking at the monsoon and rising number of cases, I have asked the schools to take extra care of the health of children and follow the Covid guidelines. Both the children and teachers should wear masks.” The DEO also urged the parents not to send their children to school if they are sick. He also asked the schools to see that eligible students get vaccinated which will reduce the risk of severe illness in case of Covid infection.
