World Yoga Day: Yogi Adityanath to lead 3.5 crore people at 75k sites

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will participate in the eighth edition of World Yoga Day at an event scheduled at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday.
At least 3.5 crore people are expected join in from across the state with yoga camps at 75,000 locations.
Six places of historic and cultural importance in the state have been selected by the Centre as part of 75 others across the country where yoga will be performed.

Besides, the CM has directed that yoga camps also be held at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Jhansi Fort, Mathura, Ma Vindhyavasini Dham, Gorakhnath temple, Naimisharanya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Varanasi, Bithoor, Chitrakoot, Shrawasti and Akshay Vat Vatika in Muzaffarnagar.
The six places identified by the Centre are Sarnath in Varanasi, Residency in Lucknow, Ayodhya, Kushinagar, Fatehpur Sikri in Agra and Hastinapur in Meerut.
The CM has also directed ministers to be present in a district of the divisions allocated to them.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak will be in Prayagraj, Anil Rajbhar in Ambedkarnagar, Dinesh Pratap Singh in Barabanki, Vijay Lakshmi Gautam in Sultanpur, Yogendra Upadhyay
in Meerut, Dinesh Khatik in Bulandshahr, Jitin Prasada in Ghaziabad, Dharmaveer Prajapati in Hapur, Ajit Singh in Hardoi, Sanjeev Gaur in Deoria, Ashish Patel in Basti, Nitin Agarwal in Siddharthnagar, Sanjay Nishad in Chandauli, Nandgopal Nandi in Jhansi, Ravindra Jaiswal in Bhadohi, Dayashankar Singh in Mau and Baby Rani Maurya in Saharanpur.
Senior bureaucrats have also been allotted districts where they have to perform.
Principal secretary, transport, L Venkateswara Lu will be in Fatehpur, principal secretary, urban development, Amrit Abhijat in Sant Kabir Nagar, principal secretary, housing and urban planning, Nitin Ramesh Gokarn in Gorakhpur and principal secretary, tourism, Mukesh Meshram in Muzaffarnagar.
