Panchayat elections turned out to be a bizarre family drama in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli district. Sukhram Singh, an ex-panchayat secretary of Piparkhad village is married to three women. Two of his wives, Geeta Singh and Kusum Kali are contesting against each other for the post of Sarpanch from Deosar Janpad's Piparkhad village, while his third wife, Urmila stood up for the post of Janpad from Pedra village. The affidavits of the three ladies revealed Sukhram Singh as their husband, coting him his post in the village panchayat. The suspension letter from the government mentions that he concealed the identity of his second wife, Geeta Singh. On contrary, Sukhram Singh claimed that he had his Urmila's relationship with him as they are not married. According to him, Urmila is her live-in partner.
