Tirupati : TTD Land Committee chairman Justice K Sridhar Rao (retired) lauded the TTD efforts for the protection of the lands donated by devotees all over the country.

Speaking at the Land Committee meeting held here on Tuesday, Justice Sridhar Rao said that TTD Estate Wing took up adequate measures for safeguarding the landed properties and particularly appreciated wing's special officer Mallikarjuna and JEO Sada Bhargavi for implementing all the suggestions of the committee in preserving 975 TTD assets across the country.

TTD officials have successfully recovered a total of 20.45 acre land worth Rs 23 crore and also collected pending lease amount of Rs 15 crore from 29 properties, he said.

The meeting also discussed development of properties in Janakpuri, Rishikesh and Dehradun for the benefit of devotees.

The Land Committee chief was all praise for the TTD for contemplating digitalisation of its landed properties to ensure transparency and better management of the properties with the help of modern technology like geo mapping, geo fencing, etc., Among other recent achievements by TTD Estates Wing, the leasing of all kalyana mandapams has brought TTD a revenue of Rs 6 crore. The task force has also succeeded in taking back a 6-acre property in Kabisthalam at Tanjore in Tamil Nadu that has been pending for several decades.

Land Committee members included Dr V R Gauri Shankar, Local Advisory Committee, TTD (LAC) heads (chairman) including GV Bhaskar Rao (Hyderabad), AJ Shekar (Chennai), Amol Kale (Mumbai), Dr Sampat Ravi Narayana (Bengaluru), V Prashanti Reddy, (New Delhi), Dushyant Kumar Das (Bhubaneswar) were participated virtually while social activist Bayya Srinivasulu, Dr K Ramachandra Murthy and Govind Hari attended the meeting.
