PATNA: The Patna high court has expressed displeasure over the failure of Muzaffarpur police to recover the 6-year-old daughter of a vegetable vendor, who has been missing for the last one year. The bench of Justice Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, while hearing the criminal writ application of Rajan Sah, directed for the personal appearance of DSP (Town) of Muzaffarpur with updated investigation report on June 27.

Petitioner’s counsel Om Prakash Kumar apprised the court that a kidnapping case had been lodged, but there was neither any progress in the investigation nor the girl could be recovered. Calling it a serious lapse on the part of the police, the high court also directed SSP, Muzaffarpur, to take up the pending investigation at his own level by immediately relieving the investigating officer of the case.
