Patna: Schools start process for Class XI admissions

Several schools in the city have started uploading notification and application form for giving provisional admission in Class XI for 2022-23 session as the Class X students of CBSE and CISCE are still waiting for their board exam results.

PATNA: Several schools in the city have started uploading notification and application form for giving provisional admission in Class XI for 2022-23 session as the Class X students of CBSE and CISCE are still waiting for their board exam results.
Schools will enrol their own students on the basis of performance in the term 1 exams, pre-board exams and internal assessment marks.
Many schools have planned to start classes for Std XI from July. Some schools have decided to conduct entrance tests for admission in Class XI for students from other institutions.
St Michael’s High School (SMHS) has uploaded the admission form, which has to be submitted with application fee in the school office between 8am and 1pm within two days after the declaration of results by the CBSE/ICSE. For science stream, a student must have got 90% overall marks while students opting for PCM should score 90% each in science and mathematics. The overall pass percentage for other streams is 80% for CBSE and ICSE students.
As far as the Bihar and other boards are concerned, the overall pass percentage should be 85% in science stream, including 85% each in science and maths, says the SMHS notification.
For Class XI in Loyola High School, students must have 85% marks in science, maths and English in the CBSE exam for admission in science stream, while 85% is required in English, social studies and 70% in maths for commerce, 80% each in English and social studies for arts. Similarly, for ICSE and state board, minimum 80% is required in science stream and 75% in commerce and arts. The school will also conduct the entrance test.

The offline application for admission in Don Bosco Academy is available at school counter since May 17. The school has set cutoff marks for CBSE and state board students at 90% each in maths, English and science while 85% each in maths, English and science for ICSE. “For Boscoites, results of first semester and pre-board exams are required for admission in Class XI,” the officials said.
Carmel High School also started registration for admission in Class XI. “Students of the CBSE will apply with pre-board and semester I results while pre-board result is required for the ICSE students,” says the school notification.
At Notre Dame Academy, any notification and application form for admission in Class XI will be issued after the Class X results.
