Three BJP council members quit Saurashtra's Palitana Nagar Palika

BHAVNAGAR: The Deputy Collector has to reveived resignation letters from three BJP council members from Palitana nagar Palika in the Saurashtra region.  Councilmembers Roshanben Abda and Kiranben Kukreja of Ward 3 resigned, claiming that they are unable to stand before voters because public works projects were not carried out in their districts.

Ajay Joshi, the third councilman, gave personal explanations. He said that because of his constant travel for work, he is unable to spend time with the constituency.

Terming the development "surprising", President of BJP Bhavnagar district committee Mukesh Langalia said: "I'm going to personally meet with them to address any issues they may have. They can discuss and settle the issue with the Palika president if the public works projects in their wards are not finished. will persuade the three council members to revoke their resignations."

This is not the first incident; just last month, the State's department of urban development was disbanded for failing to schedule general board meetings for the months of April, July, October, and January in the fiscal year 2021–22, as well as for failing to utilise the Rs 24 crore grant designated for urban development.

In the Botad Nagar Palika, BJP won the majority vote. Later, Alpa Sabva, the president of the nagarpalika, won the presidential elections with the help of Congress council members, for which she was expelled from the party.
