PATNA: District magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Manavjeet Singh Dhillon on Wednesday reviewed the preparations made for the smooth conduct of 2022 UPSC Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) and Indian Engineering Service (Mains) examinations scheduled to be held from June 24 to 26 and directed all the officials concerned to accord top priority to the examinations.

Both these officials pointed out that the examinations should be held under tight security arrangements at all the designated centres. While the IES and ISS examinations would be held at one centre each on June 24, 25 and 26, the Indian Engineering Service exam will be held in two sittings at one centre on June 26. The number of candidates applying for these examinations are 306, 269 and 92, respectively.

Deputation of local observers, static magistrates, zonal magistrates and police force to effectively control law and order and ensure fair and peaceful conduct of examinations have already been made. “All these personnel will strictly follow the instructions of the UPSC,” they said.
All the officials deputed for the examinations would visit the centres of their deputation a day before the examination and inspect the arrangements made for the examination. On the day of examinations, they would reach the centre two hours prior to the commencement of examination and remain there till the end.
They would ensure closure of the main entrance gate of the examination centre 10 minutes before the commencement of examination in both the sittings. Local observers would make the number of candidates present and absent at the centre available to the office of the divisional commissioner on phone within half an hour of the end of the examination in both the sittings.
Use of cellphones will be completely banned inside the examination centre and no candidate would be allowed to carry cellphone, pager, IT gadgets, bluetooth with him or her inside the centre. Disciplinary action would be taken against candidates violating this order and would be debarred from any UPSC examination in future. There would be no frisking of candidates at the centre in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, they added.
