Police seized 10 cell phones from the accused and produced them before court for judicial remand on Wednesday.
According to police, there was clear evidence against Pruthviraj and Santosh that they had set ablaze a train. "There are videos shot on the phones of the protesters while Pruthiviraj and Santhosh were setting ablaze the seats of a train. The remaining accused also have directly participated in the violence and some of them were admins of WhatsApp groups," Railway police said.
Family members of Pruthviraj reached the city on Wednesday and, after verifying with Chanchalguda prison authorities that he was not there, they approached railway police. "When my son left Sonapur, I thought he was going for coaching in the city. Yesterday, we came to know that he is A2 in the Secunderabad railway station violence case. I do not know what has happened. We are trying to find out," Pruthviraj's father Sham Rao said. Family members of another accused, Ayyappa, broke down at the railway station when police took the accused out to produce before the court. In the remand report, there was a mention of Sai Defence Academy owner Subba Rao and his associate Shiva supporting the protesters. "The accused confessed that while they were in the mob, some of the academy students discussed that Subba Rao and Shiva of Sai Defence Academy are supporting them and they also posted a photo of both of them in Hakimpet Soldiers WhatsApp group. They also said that Subba Rao supported the agitators by providing logistics," the remand report stated.
Police were still questioning Subba Rao. They have information that he was in the city from June 16 to June 18. "Subba Rao checked into a lodge at Medipally near his coaching academy on June 16 and he checked out on June 18 morning around 8 am," a railway police official said. Cops were trying to elicit more information from him. Rajasekhar, a trainer of a Karimnagar-based coaching centre, was also in the custody of police.
